The Faculty of Philosophy at Heidelberg University / Heidelberg Center for Cultural Heritage (HCCH) invites applications for a Junior Professorship (W1) for “Digital Cultural Heritage Studies” (f/m/d)nto be occupied at the next possible date.
The professorship will be limited to six years and is intended to continue and further establish the research focus “Digital Cultural Heritage Research” at the HCCH (in cooperation with the Heidelberg Center for Digital Humanities/HCDH). Applicants are expected to have a sound knowledge and experience in research and teaching in the field of cultural heritage studies as well as demonstrable methodological skills in the digital humanities (with a focus on digital heritage); they should have a focus on working with as well as recording and analysing artefacts, monuments, sites, cultural landscapes, cultural and/or museum practices.
Experience in the field of knowledge transfer, in the acquisition of third-party funding and in working in and with university collections (including the field of digital provenance research) is desirable.
The tasks of the professorship include teaching in the MA program “Cultural Heritage and the Protection of Cultural Property”, based at the HCCH, and in the continuing education program of the HCDH. Furthermore, the willingness to work on and further develop digital methods in the field of digital heritage as well as to participate in existing and planned research networks and projects of the university is expected.
